The script comes from the English playwright Ben Crocker, a master of the genre.  Crocker’s scripts are known for incorporating all the quintessential pantomime elements: audience interaction, a villain and a hero, a princess, a pantomime dame and a cast of comic characters. Like all good pantomime, the script will include some contemporary satirical elements so that the story resonates on more than one comic level.

Thanks to all who contacted the Director Barry LeFort, & expressed interest in attending the Reading of “Accidental Death of an Anarchist”, on the 6th December, the response has been encouraging.

It has come to Barry’s attention that there is a meeting regarding the refurbishment of the Limelight Theatre Green Room at 12 noon on 6th December. Therefore the READING will now be at 10am on 6th December.
Intent: get together and look over this very funny satirical script. discuss: show; characters & how they are to be portrayed; read selected passages from the script.

Following on this, to organise a full reading and audition dates.

Auditions for Hugh Whitemore’s Play “Disposing of the Body” will be held on Sat 5th October 10am – Noon ( approx.) at The limelight Theatre.

From the pen of the playwright who gave us “Pack of Lies” and “Breaking the Code” comes this elegant and tantalising play. When life starts to fade into a summery drowsy twilight, you should be taking things a little easier… But for Henry Preece, embarking on retirement with his wife, things start to unravel. “All my life”, he says, “I’ve either been looking back at happy times that have gone or looking forward to the happiness to come.” When an unexpected passion is given full rein Henry realises that the door he’s just flung open should have remained tightly shut. This is an intriguing play, full of unexpected happenings.

Bleak Expectations is a fast-paced comedy mashup, Dickens with a dash of Monty Python, that sends up Britishness with lots of silliness, zings with intelligence, imagination and comic anarchy.
In fact, the story Charles Dickens might have written after drinking too much gin!
Plenty of great roles, the Bin family, mother, father, son, two daughters, more female and male roles, great characters and some double ups, and a Narrator Sir Philip Bin.
