Hello everyone,

Thank you to the members who attended our Annual General Meeting last month, and a special thank you to the new volunteers who have joined the committee for the first time since becoming members of our theatre.

Although Carol Binks is no stranger to our members, and has served you all well as booking officer, she has now joined the committee and will be extending her role to include aspects of publicity. Judy Dickens, who many of you will have seen at front of house, has also joined the committee and volunteered to assist with website updates. The 3rd new members is Karen Murray, a relatively new member who has been seen both on stage and at front of house.

Our executive committee now consists —Richard Tudge who continues his role as Secretary; Mike Gibbs who was re-elected to the position of Treasurer; Jane Anderson who is now Vice President and I will continue as President.

Kathleen Del Casale and Ashlee Torrens were also re-elected, along with Patrick McGinn who will continue in the role of Maintenance Manager for another year.

Non-committee members who were happy to assist in other areas include –
Lorretta Gibbs—Props and soft furnishings; Patrick McGinn—Front of House manager; Joyce Gilbert—Wardrobe Manager.
We have a number of other dedicated volunteers who may not have a specific title in the theatre, but are the foundation on which we build our group. I would like to acknowledge—Robert Benson-Parry for his valuable input for the building of our wardrobe extension; Colleen Hopkins for her continuing work with publicity; Wally Fry—always available at the Tuesday task force or setting and operating lights; Daniel Toomath– for his expertise and assistance with sound equipment and Nigel Rarp who continues in the background to support our website and administration. And to all who contribute to the smooth running of the Limelight Theatre – THANK YOU!

“Caught in the Net” was a wonderful, farcical romp through the double life of John Smith and it delighted all of our audiences. Laughter really is the best medicine! Our next production, “A Fairy Tale of Sorts” has just started its rehearsals and promises a lot of laughs. It’s not a fairy tale for children, by the way, in fact we will give it a 15+ rating! If you liked Benny Hill and can imagine what would happen if Disney met Monty Python—you will love this one!

See you all at the theatre!

Shelley
