The big news in the theatre at the moment is that all of the performances for “Kinky Boots” have SOLD OUT!! Certainly, we have had sell-out shows before, but never the whole show and never quite so early! There is a waiting list for cancellations, but they are few and far between. You can contact Patrick, our bookings officer on 0499 954 016 to leave a message, or email your request to [email protected].
So with this in mind, if you want to come and see the Nov/Dec production of “Rock of Ages” it would be a really good idea to get your bookings in early as it also promises to be a very popular show! The phone is manned on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9am – 12, but you can always leave a clear message and Patrick will ring you back.
You may have noticed that the front of the theatre has had a bit of a face lift – courtesy of the City of Wanneroo, the aging shrubbery has been removed and 3 small trees have been planted. Also, you may be aware that our on-street sign came down during one of the storms last month but it is now back in place. Other maintenance work scheduled is the replacement of all the sinks, tapware and counters in the front of house and green room areas toilets; we hope to complete this between the next two shows in the first week of October.
As I mentioned in last month’s newsletter, there are many volunteers working in the background of our theatre, making sure that we maintain not just the physical assets but also ensure the smooth running of the theatre as a business. Each of the committee has a role to play in this and there is a great deal of work, discussion and planning happening on a daily basis. The Treasurer, Mike Gibbs and the Secretary, Richard Tudge, are constantly on call to keep things running, and you couldn’t ask for two more dedicated administrators; thank you gentlemen!
Every member can contribute to the theatre – even if you are not a performer, back stage crew or musician – we always need help on front of house especially when we have full houses, so please if you have the time – volunteer!
