SYNOPSIS
Hollywood 1939 – Semi –independent mogul David O Selznick has just shut down the film production of Margaret Mitchell’s bestselling novel “Gone With The Wind” after three weeks of shooting. His reputation (not to mention his bank balance) is on the line and he is determined to have the rewrites completed in five days. He engages a somewhat reluctant script doctor Ben Hecht – possibly the only person in the US not to have read the novel. Together with his new director, Victor Fleming, (poached from the set of The Wizard of Oz where he has been squabbling with the Munchkins and coming to blows with Judy Garland) the three are locked in Selznick’s office for five days with nothing to eat but a stockpile of bananas and peanuts to sustain them. What follows is a hilarious clash of egos as they endeavour to complete the script within the time frame.

Although our program for next year has not yet been established, we have been able to lock in one production.
After negotiations with Mater Dei College, in conjunction with Wanneroo Repertory at the Limelight Theatre, they will be presenting “Grease”.
We are very excited to welcome this prestigious school to our theatre and hope it will be the beginning of a fruitful collaboration for both organisations.
Final dates will be advertised in the next newsletter—late June is the tentative date.

You will have heard that BLITZ! The Musical, is already well into the early rehearsal stage. However, as our theatre is always busy rehearsing for more than one production at a time, Alan Brock, the director, went in search of an alternative rehearsal venue whilst SKYLIGHT had priority use of the theatre—and he found one!
The Wanneroo Tavern, also know to many of you as the Stringy Bark, offered their function room FREE OF CHARGE for the duration of the rehearsal period!
We applaud the very community-minded management for their generosity.
